Muzzle Loader Ramrod Guide

So, Rooter and I are going through our finds from the other day, when she picks up a strange tube-ish piece of brass I dug and just threw into my finds pouch. “This looks like something” she says and we wash it off in the sink. “It's definitely old” I say and she notices that it's actually not a piece of anything but complete. “It has these little file marks on the top that somebody made by hand”. Sure enough there are strange marks used for some sort of gauge along the top. I decided to take a few pictures and upload them to the ID-ME Facebook group. As it would have it, this is a piece off a 1700's style Muzzle loading rifle (maybe a Brown Bess?) and a pretty significant find. Thanks everyone for helping me identify it. We'll be going back out to this site later during the week when it gets cooler again...HH ~Leon-Art-O
